that I'm not a human being
that across computer screens
lies two different species

cute, little furball
an intelligent rodent

most folks think that this is just a joke
a rouse, a gag designed to evoke
skeptics to say "there is just no way
that you could be a hamster, you must...

be a man pretending to be,
or maybe he's crazy"

that neither of those things are true
while my siblings are running on wheels
in their cages, and eating their meals
